Climate change has global causations and impacts, yet there is a growing consensus on addressing the 2°C challenge through local action. However, at the local level, there is disintegrated knowledge on: (a) short-, mid- and long-term climate vulnerability, (b) the current economy and GHG structures and their future pathways, and (c) useful mitigation and adaptation measures undertaken elsewhere.
In order to address this challenge in the Asia-Pacific region, there is an apparent need to introduce Integrated Climate Action Planning (ICLAP)- a decision-making model, that can assimilate useful information about climate mitigation, adaptation and best practices for policy makers, planners and other urban experts.
